At Range Physical Therapy & Wellness, Katie bridges the gap between massage therapy and sports medicine, providing an integrative, evidence-based approach to recovery.
"When fans attend games, they follow the ball, track their favorite player up and down the court or field, and watch intently at the scoreboard. When I sit and watch a game, I’m watching the rebounds to watch for any mechanism of injury for ankles, watching linemen collide helmets to find that hit that was too hard, or recognize when an athlete is playing through something they should not be. My experiences as an athlete, sports-specific massage therapist, and athletic trainer have shaped my passion for helping athletes recover and perform at their best.
My journey began in high school, where I took sports medicine classes and shadowed our athletic trainer in Belgrade, MT. His mentorship taught me the value of individualized, athlete-centered care—something I strive to provide in my own work. As a multisport athlete, I experienced injuries firsthand, including a torn labrum that ended my career. Even though my athletic career is over, it has fueled my professional career to have a better understanding of the mind of an athlete and how to help them not just physically but mentally through injuries."
